The Hungry Cabbie Eats The Outer Boroughs: Louie and Ernie’s
Cent’ anni. It means we should all live happily for a hundred years — the family. That’d be true if we all eat sausage pizza from Louie and Ernie’s in The Bronx. So read today’s Gothamist column at:

And live for another 100 years if you take an eating tour at www.famousfatdave.com

I just ate a lot of pizza and I’m watching the Spumoni Gardens part and I’m probably gonna throw up. No more pizza!
On a lighter note though, I had coffee with my ex from NY this morning and she complimented your writing. I think that means you’re good.

Thanks again Dave- one of my earliest childhood memories is sharing a fried calzone with Grandma at Louie and Ernie’s more than 25 years ago. You have once again picked a winner… and the hits keep on coming; you’re the greatest!

John,
I still haven’t tried that fried calzone. It sounds amazing. Next time I’m up there I’ve gotta try it.

[...] Unfortunately, they cut a scene showing those delicious Little Neck Clams Possilipo at Artie’s in City Island. But they’ve got great shots of the broccoli rabe at Fratelli’s in Hunt’s Point, the fried calzone at Louie and Ernie’s in Pelham Bay, the Italian Ice next door at Teresa’s, and the cannoli at Madonia Brothers on Arthur Ave. Classic food porn. Enjoy. [...]
