In case you bought the Post that day (or you live somewhere other than New York City), I’ve loaded a photo of the Daily News on my “Dave In The Press” page for your viewing pleasure.

It was so easy living day by day

Out of touch with the rhythm and blues

But now I need a little give and take

The New York Times . . . . The Daily News

It comes down to reality and it’s fine with me cause I’ve let it slide

Don’t care if it’s Chinatown or on Riverside

I don’t have any reasons, I’ve left them all behind

I’m in a New York state of mind

Oh, Davey! My assistant actually clipped your Daily News piece and put it on my chair for me. It’s so great even if it’s crotch-focused.

You were highlighted today on New York One in the “In the Papers” segment!
    Congratulations on the exposure.

Dave, have you written – or are you planning on writing – a book?

    Dear Zeep,

Funny you should ask. Yes I am writing a book right now. That’s why I gotta leave you jonesin’ for posts while I concentrate on writing this book proposal. I spent the end of last year doing my pilot for Food Network. Now I’m trying to write this book during the early part of this year. But it’s slow going. I’ve been working on the book since last May.

    Why do you ask?

Hey Dave– Nice exposure! (I meant the articles, of course). ;-) Can’t get much better than the NYT and Daily News. And love the Billy Joel reference too. Perfect. :-)

Out in Bethlehem they’re killing time… filling out forms… standing in line.

Great job, Dave. I can now say that this was the guy I gave my Pennsylvania Hotel award from winning the 2000 Subway Series performance rendition of Meet the Mets. If you have places in Flushing, Queens or Bensonhurst, Brooklyn in mind let me know since those are the neighborhoods I identify with! Keep on truckin’…or eatin’

    Cabbie,
I am organizing an amateur chili cookoff in Red Hook, (right near Defontes, at Moonshine Bar) in March. It is to benefit my theater company’s tour to Austin Texas.

Would you consider being one of the judges? Eat loads of free chili and weild power? We would be honored.

email me if you have a minute.

    Smeck!

I think it’s that Daily News caption writer who is out of touch. He also called me “Fat Dave” which I HATE (and so does the Howard Beach gangster who actually goes by that name and probably wants to stab me now). Why would you just take someone’s nickname and change it without asking? Did anyone call Babe Ruth “The Sultan” instead of “The Sultan of Swat” just because he felt like it?
